Jared Lyon, national program manager of the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV) and Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans’ Families (EBV-F) programs operated by the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University (IVMF), will speak at the Seventh Annual U.S. Disability Matters Awards Conference April 15-17 in Jacksonville, Fla. The conference brings together more than 350 of the nation’s top diversity, human resources, equal employment opportunity, marketing executives/practitioners and colleagues representing the federal government, academia and non-profit sectors to share experiences and best practices on the most critical issues impacting disability in today’s corporate workforce and marketplace.
Lyon will join Dan Nevins, director of Warriors Speak, and Craig Thomas, senior vice president of government and consumer markets at Florida Blue, on a panel aimed at informing corporate representatives attending the conference about the merits of service-disabled, veteran-owned businesses. Lyon will speak generally about the IVMF and its work in the veteran space, highlight entrepreneurship training that EBV participants receive through the program and speak to the competitive advantage their military service and skills gained through the EBV affords them as small business owners and contractors for large businesses.
