Sponsored by The Walmart Foundation and The Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University (IVMF)
Starting in September, the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University (IVMF) will embark upon an AmericaServes Community Impact Tour to 11 cities across the country. In each of these cities, we’ll convene up to 75 locally-based public, private, and nonprofit leaders to learn about collective impact initiatives and opportunities to enhance the quality and diversity of services, resources, and care offered to transitioning servicemembers, veterans, and their families in their communities.
About the AmericaServes Community Discussion:
The IVMF with support from the Walmart Foundation, Accenture, Unite US, and FSG will host informative discussions aimed at exploring the AmericaServes Collective Impact Initiative. Our objective is to provide tailored strategies to local stakeholders, thought leaders, and service providers from the public, private, and independent sectors in order to meet the diverse needs of our nation’s transitioning servicemembers, veterans, and their families.
Reflecting on the values within each community, we’re pleased to host these at public libraries across the country and have identified a number of similarities between the shaping of the AmericaServes Initiative and the grounding nature that our community libraries offer: a central location, accessible to all generations, and a safe space for people to research and exchange ideas while challenging the art of the possible.
As we prepare to kick off this 11 city community discussion, staring in San Antonio this Wednesday, September 30, we ask that you preregister for the cities of interest to you, as well as help us socialize these discussions within your networks. We look forward to seeing you on the road!
