The Military Family Lifestyle Survey takes a comprehensive look at the current needs and priorities of military families and service members and identifies key aspects of military life to effectively target resources, services, and programs that support the sustainability of the All-Volunteer Force.

In partnership with Blue Star Families, IVMF administered and analyzed its Military Family Lifestyle Survey, designed to provide a comprehensive picture of the current needs and priorities of military families and service members. It identifies key aspects of military life to effectively target resources, services, and programs that support the sustainability of the All-Volunteer Force.

Key Highlights

  • More than 6,200 military families, including active duty service members and veterans provided valuable insight regarding the true cost of sustaining the All-Volunteer Force.
  • All respondents rank “Change in Retirement” and “Military Pay/Benefits” as their top concerns for their families relating to service.
  • Based on personal views, many respondents find military service valuable and recognize its government benefits as worthwhile
  • Some respondents struggle to reconcile their military lifestyle with civilian life.
