Gibbs has been in her role serving the IVMF’s Veterans Career Transition Program (VCTP) since December 2015. In this role, she is responsible for advising multiple cohorts of transitioned, transitioning, or soon-to-be transitioning Veterans and military spouses through program guidelines, requirements, and coursework. She addresses student questions and concerns, assesses skills and translates them into individual development plans, processes student registrations, monitors student progress and ensures course requirements are met. Additionally, Gibbs provides career services such as resume reviews and assisting with job searches, all while contributing to the VCTP team goals.
Gibbs holds a bachelor’s degree in Early American History from the State University of New York at Oswego. Upon graduation she accepted a position with Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management in its Defense Programs office. In this role, Gibbs worked with Army and DoD budget and financial analysts and was responsible for course logistics, collecting and submitting student tuition payments, managing budgets, tracking registrations, managing student data, and served as a liaison between the Department of the Army and the Whitman School of Management. Gibbs is currently working on her Master of Social Science degree with the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
