Avdić is responsible for maintaining open lines of communication with Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) entrepreneurship program graduates, as well as facilitating questions, advising, and connecting graduates to program support services. Avdić will review business plans, provide mentorship and resource provider connections. He will monitor student progress and provide advisement to help students make appropriate business decisions. In addition, Avdić will be responsible for maintaining relationships with current and prospective post-program support resource partners, and always look for opportunities to expand resources available to graduates of IVMF Entrepreneurship Programs.
Prior to joining the IVMF, Avdić was a business consultant at the South Side Innovation Center (SSIC), where he assisted small business owners grow their businesses. He also helped individual entrepreneurs explore ideas, write business plans and start their businesses. He served as an NXlevel instructor and lead counselor, responsible for over 300 clients.
Avdić received his bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. Originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Avdić came to the United States in 2001 and has lived in Syracuse, New York, ever since. He is passionate about helping others and creating a positive impact in communities. In his free time, Avdić assists the North Side Learning Center (NSLC) with bookkeeping, marketing and teaching financial literacy.
