Frances Firman is an Advisor for the Institute for Veterans and Military Families, where she is responsible for maintaining open lines of communication with O2O students and assists with questions or concerns regarding certificate coursework, program offerings, and career advice. She is also accountable for processing registrations for follow-on certifications, maintaining student records toward program completion, and contributing to the team’s overall student retention goals.
Prior to joining the IVMF Advising Team, Frances worked as an Academic Coordinator for over five years. Within this role, she supported Special Operations military personnel in an online foreign language program. She coordinated with service members to prepare them for their upcoming language courses and monitored course completion. She also worked directly with Unit Command Program Managers to ensure students were meeting all their language training needs.
Frances holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Siena College and a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Syracuse University. She is passionate about connecting with service members and supporting them through continuing education opportunities.
