Kicia Sears is a Research Program Manager, providing support to the research team across a wide range of projects, including publications, web content, communications, project planning, special projects, and grants/development. She began her work at the IVMF in June during a master’s capstone project, working as a consultant to the Syracuse Veterans Legal Clinic at the Syracuse University School of Law. At Maxwell, she focused on post-incarceration reintegration and reentry programs and policies.
Sears joins the IVMF after five years as adjunct faculty in the Syracuse University Department of Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition. She also served as a writing consultant to graduate and undergraduate students in the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications, and as an adjunct professor in writing at LeMoyne College.
Sears earned her Master’s in Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs in July 2016. She also completed her Master of Arts in English in 2013 and her bachelor’s in English and Anthropology in 2008, both at Syracuse University.
She photographs Syracuse men’s basketball, lacrosse, and SU football for SNY.tv’s The Juice Online. She is a native of Syracuse, NY where she lives with her husband, son, and dog.
