Laura Butler is the El Paso/Fort Bliss Program Manager for the Onward to Opportunity Program, facilitating the professional training and certification of transitioning veterans and their spouses. She has accrued over a decade of experience teaching, training and project management experience including over seven years working within the military community.
Laura began her career as a public high school teacher, and has worked across retail, financial, and non-profit institutions in leadership positions. She served as the United States Program Director for World Cosplay Summit, during which time she worked extensively with international broadcasters, government officials, and event organizers from over 30 countries. Just prior to taking on the role of Onward to Opportunity Program Manager for the El Paso Area, she spent over five years conducting comprehensive career transition workshops for service members and their families with GBX Consultants, Inc., and the AFX Group, LLC.
Laura holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Chapman University, her California Teaching Credential to teach Secondary School, and is pursuing continued education towards a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
