Joint Base San Antonio Program Coordinator | O2O

Watson is the Onward to Opportunity-Veterans Career Transition Program Joint Base San Antonio Coordinator for the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) at Syracuse University. Prior to coming on board at the IVMF, he served 21 years, three months, and 13 days of active duty in the United States Army. Throughout his service, he served as a Wire and Cable Construction Maintainer, a Recruiter, and a Human Intelligence Collector. He served with the 35th Signal Brigade Airborne, the Great Lakes Recruiting Battalion, the 82nd Airborne Division, and the Southwestern Army Reserve Intelligence Support Command. He participated in Operation URGENT RESPONSE in Port-Au-Prince Haiti, and Operation NEW DAWN in Iraq. During his career he received 1 Meritorious Service Medal, 1 Humanitarian Service Medal, and 7 Achievement medals for his outstanding leadership and team building abilities as well as his attention to detail.

One of his proudest moments was returning to his hometown of Detroit during his career and working in the community with high-risk teens and young adults as a mentor and motivator.
