Regan Hertzler

Mrs. Regan N. Hertzler has more than 12 years of experience working in the private and government sectors.  In an administrative role for the Virginia Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve from August 2010 through September 2012, a Department of Defense volunteer agency, she worked directly with the employment initiative program director to execute a program to help ensure employment for service members and veterans. She was recognized by the leadership for her dedication, operative communication, and productive program implementation from top down to the 115 volunteers.  She worked with stakeholders, including service members, military leaders, business leaders, and state agencies helping to “connect the dots” for employers and veterans and Guard and Reserve members. She later became the Employment Transition Coordinator (ETC) for Virginia for Hero2Hired.jobs (H2H).

Securing gainful employment for unemployed military members, and educating employers on their value and particular needs through the implementation of H2H.jobs and the Virginia Values Veterans (V3) program were her focus from late 2012 through early 2014.  This work led her to become the V3 Regional Program Manager based in Hampton Roads, where she provided strategic, operational, and administrative support for the V3 Program, dedicated client service to Hampton Roads V3 companies, and managed the Veterans Employment Grant, a special fund designed to incentive small and medium sized businesses to hire and retain qualifying Veterans.

The V3 experience exposed her to many community and nationwide partners and programs, one of the most inspiring of those being the Institute for Veterans and Military Families.  She is thrilled to join the IVMF team as the Onward To Opportunity Installation Program Coordinator for Hampton Roads.

Mrs. Hertzler received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL, and Master of Science degree from California State University, Los Angeles. She lives with her husband, Mike, two dogs, one cat, and two fish in Virginia Beach, VA.  She can be reached at rnhertzl@syr.edu.
