Shawn Lewis, a native New Yorker, and Veteran of the Submarine Force joined the United States Navy in June 1991 and retired after 23 years of service in July 2014 reaching the rank of Chief Petty Officer.    While on active duty, Shawn led 6 divisions as the Torpedo Division Chief, where his primary responsibility was to lead Sailors, manage the ships compliment of conventional ordnance, and lead maintenance efforts maintaining submarine readiness.   His experience in professional development includes managing the command Drug & Alcohol Program, serving as the Weapons Department Career Counselor, and mentoring instructors as a Master Training Specialist.

After leaving the service, he continues to work within the Military and Veteran community in providing career coaching and professional development.  His background includes mentoring service men and women in managing their military careers, assisting Transitioning Service Members and their families in navigating their way into the business community, and aiding various businesses and organizations in understand how to successfully recruit and retain veterans.

An avid volunteer, he mentors members of the Veteran community, maintains a virtual resource library, and facilitates career discussions as a member of the non-profit organization “Vets2Industry”.  As a board member with the non-profit, “Marcy Houses Scholarship Fund” based in Brooklyn, NY, he works to coordinate activities designed to help first generation urban youth successfully complete their education and career journey through the achievement of a college degree or successful completion of an industrial training program.

Shawn resides in Camden County, GA, with his wife Jackie and daughters Shawna and Samantha.
