Vanessa Marquette started her role as IVMF’s web specialist in May 2016. She is responsible for all social media channels and website content, and assists with various other marketing communications materials for the IVMF and all of its programs and services. Marquette came to IVMF with strong military knowledge as both of her parents are retired military, her husband is an active-duty soldier, and several of her other family members have served or are currently serving. She has worked on two military installations, contributing to the lives of soldiers and their families.
Marquette graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications and a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in journalism/mass communication. Prior to IVMF, Marquette lived in Fort Bragg, NC, and Fort Benning, GA, while her husband served as an active-duty Infantry Officer. She worked in Fort Benning’s Maneuver Center of Excellence, Public Affairs Office as a journalist for the Bayonet & Saber newspaper. She also worked as the marketing specialist at Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union from November 2012 to June 2015, where she emphasized the importance of financial readiness to the military community.
Marquette is currently pursuing a master’s degree in communications at Syracuse University’s S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. She is an avid animal rescuer, traveler, freelance writer/graphic designer, storm chaser and a college basketball fan. She is originally from Rome, NY, but now resides in Sackets Harbor with her husband, Ryan, who currently serves as a U.S. Army Infantry Officer at Fort Drum. They have two rescue dogs, Scrappy and Eli.
