Vanessa Marquette G’19 started her role as the Institute for Veterans and Military Families’ web specialist in May 2016. She is responsible for all social media channels and website content and assists with various other marketing communications materials for IVMF and all its programs and services. She came to IVMF with strong military knowledge as both of her parents are retired military, her husband is an active-duty soldier, and several of her other family members have served or are currently serving. She has worked on two military installations, contributing to the lives of soldiers and their families.
Prior to IVMF, Vanessa lived in Fort Bragg, NC, and Fort Benning, GA, while her husband served as an active-duty Infantry Officer. She worked in Fort Benning’s Maneuver Center of Excellence, and Public Affairs Office as a journalist for the Bayonet & Saber newspaper. She also worked as the marketing specialist at Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union from November 2012 to June 2015, where she emphasized the importance of financial readiness to the military community.
Vanessa graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications and a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in journalism/mass communication. She also earned a master’s degree in communications at Syracuse University’s S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
