Bunker Labs Joins The IVMF Family!

In our ongoing mission to empower military-connected entrepreneurs, Syracuse University’s D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) proudly announces the acquisition of Bunker Labs. As Bunker Labs is a highly respected non-profit organization dedicated to supporting veteran and military-spouse entrepreneurs, this strategic decision underscores both organizations’ unwavering commitment to providing comprehensive and impactful programs, enhanced resources and support, and increased opportunities for every member of our esteemed military community.

“Our shared commitment to empowering veterans and military spouses through entrepreneurship and innovation makes this acquisition a powerful step forward,” said Dr. Michael Haynie, Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives and Innovation, and the Executive Director of the IVMF. “By merging our resources, knowledge, and networks, we are poised to make an even greater impact in the lives of those who have served in the defense of our nation.”

What is IVMF?

Syracuse University has been supporting veterans going back to 1917 and in 2011 founded The D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families.

The D’Aniello Institute is higher education’s first interdisciplinary academic institute, singularly focused on advancing the post-service lives of the nation’s military veterans and their families to serve those who have served.

Mission:
To empower service members, veterans, and their families through actionable research, innovative programs, and insightful analytics.

What is Bunker Labs?

Bunker Labs supports entrepreneurs from the veteran and military spouse communities, and gets them the resources and connections they need to grow their business. They believe the United States is better off when those who have sacrificed for our country have a seat at the table to influence the economic landscape.

Mission:
Bunker Labs provides community, programs, and courses to help military veterans and military spouses start and grow successful businesses and startups.

The Future

All Bunker Labs Programs Will Be Offered Under IVMF

The same great programs that Bunker Labs is known for will continue to be available for the military-community, but now within the IVMF Entrepreneurship portfolio. This includes being fully supported by the IVMF Advising & Enrollment services plus the benefits of our massive Alumni network

CRUCIAL TIMING

This acquisition comes at a crucial time in the military entrepreneur community. Veteran business owners are a cornerstone of the nation’s economy, contributing $1.3 trillion in economic activity each year on average, and employing more than 5 million across the nation.

POWERFUL BACKING

The programs run by Bunker Labs will now nest underneath the IVMF portfolio with the full power of Syracuse University’s R1 research institute behind it. Every program will be reviewed under the Evaluation Team to assess and convey programmatic need, process, quality, efficiency, and outcomes.

ALUMNI NETWORK

By expanding the family everyone in the military-community has equally expanded their network for resources, support, and community. Bunker Labs alumni will immediately be given access to not only the IVMF alumni network for resources, but all of Syracuse University’s powerful network.
