Support & Partner with IVMF

Somewhere in America right now, a veteran is trying to turn military discipline into a business plan. A transitioning service member is searching for a career worthy of the leadership they showed in uniform. A military spouse is rebuilding a career, and a life, that service keeps interrupting. A family that gave everything is quietly wondering what comes next.

The D'Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) at Syracuse University exists for these moments. We believe supporting those who served means more than gratitude.

It means research that tells the truth about what veterans and military families face, programs that deliver real skills and real opportunity, and a voice on Capitol Hill, where policy shapes millions of lives. Our goal is an America where every veteran and military spouse can pursue their very best lives after service.

We're proud to be a national leader on these issues, but we can't do it alone. Your gift changes what's possible for a veteran, a spouse, a family that has already given so much.

The Challenge

Transition from the Military

Over 236,000 service members and their families are transitioning from the military each year, making the need to focus on post-service lives even more critical.

Employment

Nearly 75% of transitioned service members indicate employment-related considerations are central to decisions concerning transition.

Career Path

55% of service members do not want to pursue careers similar to their military careers.

Access to Care

Nearly 60% of veterans say access to care and navigating services are among their top challenges.

Making a Difference

All Across the Country, We Meet Veterans Where They Are

IVMF's reach is national by design and local by intention.

In veteran-dense communities, near military installations, and across major metro areas, we deliver programs, build networks, and open doors for veterans, military spouses, and their families close to where they call home. For companies, foundations, and individuals who want their investment to matter in the places they live and work, IVMF offers something rare: the infrastructure of a nationally recognized institution with the presence and accountability of a neighbor.

Our team can show you how your investment can have impact where it matters most to you.

The Impact

More than 236,000 veterans, transitioning service members, and military family members have found their footing after service through IVMF programs. Behind every number is a career launched, a business built, a family more secure. It takes a network to make that happen, including funders who invest with conviction, partners who show up with resources, and an advisory board that brings credibility and connections. All of it in service of one goal: making sure every person who served receives support worthy of that service.

The Research

Our research doesn't just inform our programs — it shapes the field. As part of Syracuse University, a premier R1 research institution, IVMF brings academic rigor to the challenges facing veterans and military families.  Grounded in data drawn directly from the military community, our findings equip veteran service organizations, corporations, and policymakers with insights they can act on
