Quiana Abner
Quiana serves as the Regional Program Manager for the Onward to Opportunity Program at the Syracuse University D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF); coaching and developing successful career opportunities for veterans and military spouses across Texas and New Mexico. She has dedicated more than two decades imparting her leadership; serving the military and greater community with a people first approach with a commitment to the wellbeing of all, especially, our nation’s heroes.
Her work in social advocacy led her to serve in various meaningful capacities. Quiana champions impactful leadership as an Advisory Board Member for the Texas Leadership Consortium. Quiana also represented Syracuse University as one of 34 Fellows selected nationally to develop actionable, solutions-based projects in response to chronic military-connected challenges for the George W. Bush Institute Veterans Leadership Program.
Prior to joining IVMF, Quiana advocated to Wing Commanders– influencing educational policy for K-12 military students and served as a workforce and educational advisor. She also served as a Strategic Advisor to four CEO’s from scale to sale and worked on Capitol Hill, advocating policy changes for underserved and underinvested communities.
Quiana holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a concentration in Public Administration from Elizabeth City State University, where she graduated valedictorian and two Masters degrees in Business Management and Public Administration. Quiana is a proud military spouse. She is honored to be cheerleader to her son, a Navy veteran, daughter, an Airforce veteran and youngest daughter, a rising artist. When she is not representing IVMF or volunteering, Quiana is personal and home styling and hosting a community brunch or dinner.
