Vice Chancellor and Director of the IVMF, Mike Haynie, Shares His Thoughts on Veterans Day

IVMF’s very own Doctor Mike Haynie, IVMF Executive Director and Vice Chancellor of Syracuse University, shares his thoughts on Veteran’s Day involving a flight where he once overheard a passenger speak to a veteran and claim that the challenges veterans face today is “fake news” and it is no longer like after the Vietnam War. The veteran explained he tried college but it didn’t work out and he was struggling to find a job. Even worse, he went on to state, “Worse than all that, now at home, I feel anonymous,” he said. That very claim is something the IVMF strongly focuses on to make sure that our nation’s veterans do not feel underappreciated for all they have sacrificed.
