On November 11th, Walmart hosted their first ever Heroes & Headliners Celebrity Concert featuring artists such as Chris Stapleton, H.E.R., Imagine Dragons, and more. Heroes & Headliners also highlighted donations of up to $4 million for veteran organizations from Walmart, its customers, and the Walmart Foundation. The D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Affairs (IVMF) received $750,000 from Walmart.
“Walmart has a rich history of supporting the military, dating back to our first veteran associate, Sam Walton,” said John Furner, President and CEO, Walmart U.S. “Like him, our American military community and their families have ensured the fabric of our freedom, and we’re forever grateful for their sacrifice and service.”
IVMF has been a longstanding partner with Walmart in supporting the military-community. Walmart is a founding member of the Coalition for veteran Owned businesses (CVOB), which supports veterans and their larger communities by connecting them to opportunities to grow their own businesses. The generous gift of $750,000 from Walmart is another step forward in working together for the military-community. IVMF will uses this gift to support the military-community with its programs and services such as Onward to Opportunity, AmericaServes, Veteran EDGE at no-cost to the participants!
