Veterans Leadership Program is a nationally-known premier Veteran service organization. For nearly 40 years, we’ve worked to empower Veterans to navigate their transition from military service to civilian life. VLP offers a comprehensive service portfolio consisting of a continuum of Housing programs ranging from emergency shelter to permanent housing; Employment programs to assist Veterans experiencing underemployment or unemployment with career placement opportunities; Supportive Services that provide emergency financial and benefits assistance; and an array of Health & Wellness program that support the holistic needs of Veterans throughout 30 counties in Western and Central Pennsylvania

Below are members of the PAServes team who help serve veterans, service members and their families of Greater Pittsburgh.


Tim Martin

TIM MARTIN 

Director of Veteran Services
Tim Martin is the Veteran Services Director at Veterans Leadership Program & licensed Social Worker. Tim proudly served in the United States Army and deployed to Afghanistan. From the moment Tim left the military it became his life’s mission and passion to help change the lives of his fellow veterans. He has experience working with multiple subsets of the veteran community ranging from the Wounded Veteran population, Homeless population, Criminal justice involved, Geriatrics, group and individual counseling.


Aaron Melius

AARON MELIUS

Aaron served as a Sergeant in the PA Army National Guard’s 876 Engineer Battalion in Johnstown Pa. He has ten years’ experience in human services working for Holy Family Institute as a family counselor before joining the team at PA SERVES. Aaron is a 2005 graduate of Mount Aloysius College where he was Captain of the Men’s Basketball Team. Aaron enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, playing flag football and basketball and he also coaches T-ball in the community.


Kevin Carmichael

KEVIN CARMICHAEL

Kevin served in the 1st/23rd Infantry Division from 2000-2005, during which time he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Iraqi Freedom from 2003-2004. Kevin is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and has experience in anti-violence advocacy as well youth mentorship. Kevin enjoys painting, visiting local museums and attending local art events.

My name is Audrey Tomas Caixeta, and I am a new Service Navigator at the Veterans Leadership Program.  I studied Community Education and Disabilities Services at West Liberty University in West Virginia. Through my studies and work with nonprofits, I was able to learn how important community resources and programs are to many populations.   I am eager and ready to assist veterans and their families as they find services and assistance.
