Erica Hawvermale, M.S.
Erica Hawvermale is an Evaluation Associate at IVMF. Erica believes that the key to any evaluation is not only what the outcomes are, but also the why behind them. She was an Air Force dependent, and experienced multiple deployments of her father as a child. As such, she has a strong commitment to helping organizations better understand how to serve the military community.
Erica has conducted research in a broad range of fields including religious diversity/tolerance, gender roles, psychological sense of community, accessibility, and non-profit evaluation. Most recently, Erica worked as a researcher at Aperio Insights, where she conducted evaluations of programs, products, and services for a wide range of clients. In addition to her paid work, Erica provided volunteer program evaluation services to United Through Reading and Our Military Kids, and her work has helped inform the strategic plans for both organizations. Additionally, Erica co-chaired the 2019 American Anthropology Master’s Career Survey. The resulting report established recommendations for key stakeholders in the anthropological discipline to promote professional growth, improve educational offerings, and increase engagement with professional organizations.
Erica holds a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology with a music minor from Utah State University. She also holds a master’s degree in Applied Anthropology with a Geographic Information Systems Graduate Certificate from the University of North Texas.
