LTG. Howard Bromberg, USA (Ret.) is currently the Vice President for Strategy and Business Development, Integrated Air and Missile Defense for Lockheed Martin Corporation. In October of 2014 he completed 37 years in the United States Army serving as a Lieutenant General. Bromberg served as the U.S. Army’s 46th Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1 from July 21, 2012, until his retirement. As the Army G-1, Lieutenant General (Retired) Bromberg was responsible for developing, managing, and executing manpower and personnel plans, programs, and policies for the total Army. Prior to this assignment, he served as the Deputy Commanding General/Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Forces Command. Bromberg hails from California and was commissioned as an Air Defense Artillery officer in the U.S. Army upon graduation from the University of California at Davis in 1977.

Bromberg holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics and management. Throughout his career, Bromberg served in Army units in the United States, Germany, Korea and Southwest Asia. He commanded at every level in the air defense community from platoon to installation. Lieutenant General (Retired) Bromberg’s command assignments include Commanding General, Fort Bliss, Texas; Commanding General, 32d Army Air Missile Defense Command, Fort Bliss, Texas, while serving in Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iraq; Commander 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, Third Army; Commander 1st Battalion, 43d Air Defense Artillery, Eighth Army, Republic of Korea; Commander, A Battery, 6th Battalion, 52d Air Defense Artillery, Germany. Bromberg’s principal staff assignments include Chief of Staff, U.S. Strategic Command; Director, Joint Theater Air and Missile Defense Organization, J-8, The Joint Staff; Operations Officer (S-3)/Executive Officer (XO), 2d Battalion, 43d Air Defense Artillery, Operation DESERT SHIELD/STORM, Operations Officer, J-3, The Joint Staff. Lieutenant General (Retired) Bromberg’s decorations and awards include the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Purple Heart and the Parachutist Badge. Bromberg serves on the Advisory Board for American Corporate Partners.
