Shane Murray is the Camp Lejeune Program Manager for Onward to Opportunity (O2O).

Before joining IVMF, Shane managed a Colony Tire Corporation service center in Wilmington, NC. During his time at Colony, he streamlined operations and reduced overtime hours while increasing the number of personnel employed and led the store to a steady increase in gross profit percentages. He has also worked as an Operations Research Analyst for Booz Allen Hamilton, focused on revising and maximizing efficiencies in the 2d Marine Expeditionary Force’s procedures for requesting, sourcing, and maintaining aviation assets used in training and combat operations.

Shane is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He served as an enlisted Marine, and an artillery officer, and conducted deployments to Somalia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. A recipient of the Purple Heart, Shane served 22 years, achieving the rank of Major. He also was awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (1 star), the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 stars), the Army Commendation Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon and the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (1 Star), among others.

Murray holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Idaho while earning his commission and serving as a mentor to NROTC students intending to join the Marine Corps upon graduation from college. He is a life member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
