Shannon Fischer joined D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families in 2020 as the Director of Budget for Strategic Initiatives and Innovation. Together with a team of budget analysts, she provides fiscal oversight of IVMF, Office of Veteran and Military Affairs, and the University’s Community Engagement and Government Relations.

Shannon has twenty years accounting experience, having begun her career in public accounting at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She later spent 13 years at Syracuse University, first as an accountant and later as a financial, compliance and IT auditor helping various departments and divisions develop greater fiscal accountability and control. Most recently, Shannon worked for Saab Defense and Security as a lead accountant, supervising billing, shared services allocations and general accounting functions.

Shannon graduated from SUNY Oswego with a B.S. in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration in 2000 and obtained her CPA license in 2003. She is a Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Information Systems Auditor.
