Partnership between Lockheed Martin and IVMF announced at check presentation today in Washington, D.C.
The Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University (IVMF) is pleased to announce Lockheed Martin as an IVMF One-Star Corporate Partner. The company’s commitment of $500,000 over the next three years will benefit the institute’s hands-on programs, activities and projects focused on helping veterans and military families make the transition to post-service life. The company’s support will assist the growth of existing education and employment programming and seed development of new programs, initiatives and publications positioned to support this deserving population.
“We are thrilled to welcome Lockheed Martin as an IVMF Corporate Partner,” says Mike Haynie, IVMF executive director and founder. “As the largest provider of IT products, services, platforms and training to the Department of Defense, Lockheed Martin supports the mission success of our nation’s military, which goes hand-in-hand with our mission of empowering those who serve the nation in uniform to make a meaningful and successful transition to civilian life. Lockheed Martin is an exemplar for others in the private sector with regard to the firm’s commitment to veterans and military families, and we are proud to help them execute that commitment.”
The IVMF One-Star Corporate Partnership represents a $500,000 commitment over three years. As an IVMF Corporate Partner, Lockheed Martin and the IVMF team will engage on an ongoing basis with the institute’s subject matter experts, research fellows and community of collaborators in support of firm-specific initiatives impacting veterans and family members.
“Our partnership with the IVMF represents a shared commitment to raise awareness regarding veterans’ issues and support transitioning military with sustainable solutions,” says Emily Simone, Lockheed Martin Global Community Outreach director. “Through this grant, we will work with the IVMF to ensure veterans and their families are well positioned to meet the many challenges they face after deployment.”
