On February 18, leaders from the public, private, non-profit, and philanthropic sectors came together to collaborate on how best to support post-9/11 veterans. At Stand-To 2021, they examined research and solutions to offer policy recommendations that will equip veterans with the support necessary to continue their service as leaders to our country. Dr. Nick Armstrong, Senior Director for Research and Analytics, Institue for Veterans and Military Families was one of the first to speak. He discussed what the data and research reveals about veteran transition which you can read more about in the Post-9/11 Veteran Survey.
Research shows that while every veteran transition looks different, there are three keys to a successful transition: education, employment, and health and well-being.
In an effort to create more collaboration and coordination, three task forces have been working throughout 2020 to develop observations, findings, and recommendations on how we can all better serve our veteran community. On February 18, representatives from the task forces shared their insights and call-to-actions. You can watch the convening below.
