Syracuse University’s Institute for Veterans and Military (IVMF) announced it has partnered with Dell Boomi to offer three new online learning pathways to the military community. IVMF’s Onward to Opportunity (O2O) program, which provides career preparation and employment training for in-demand industries, will offer free access to Dell Boomi’s professional developer, architect and administrator tracks for enrolled students.
Dell Boomi, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dell Technologies and the market-leading platform for integration, created the new courses to provide learners with the core competencies required to secure job positions, such as Dell Boomi developers, architects and administrators. The technical skills and understandings conveyed in the courses are also relevant and applicable in business consulting firms and software solution enterprises. All three courses are self-paced, online series’ delivered through Boomi’s learning management system (LMS). The Boomi training is delivered via videos, tutorials, quizzes, and hands-on labs. Following course completion, students are also able to complete the correlating certification at no-cost as a benefit of the collaboration.
“These new offerings are part of an effort to expand O2O’s portfolio in the IT industry,” says Michael Bianchi, IVMF Senior Director for Education & Career Training. “Access to Dell Boomi’s courses and certifications is an exciting step forward in equipping our students with even more resources to succeed in growing in-demand careers. We are proud and privileged to work with Dell Boomi to advance employment opportunities for veterans, service members and their families.”
“We are proud to partner with IVMF and add Dell Boomi training to the offering IVMF presents,” says Chris McNabb, CEO of Dell Boomi. “The military community brings meaningful experience and aptitude to the workplace. Boomi is excited to help these veterans acquire the technology skills they need to build their careers in the digital economy and provide for their military families.”
O2O is currently one of the largest career skills programs, operating on 18 military installations and virtually around the world and serving more transitioning service members and their spouses than many other programs. Available at no cost to transitioning service members, veterans and military spouses, more than 8,000 participants enroll each year. The program equips participants with certifications such as information technology (IT) project management, human resources and cybersecurity—empowering them to secure meaningful post-transition job placements in high-demand fields.
