Procurement Readiness Initiative: The D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) has partnered with Walmart to enhance procurement readiness among veteran and military spouse entrepreneurs. This collaboration offers resources such as a procurement webinar series, providing insights from both buyers and suppliers to help businesses craft effective vendor profiles and prepare their logistics and supply chains. Additionally, the initiative outlines key procurement steps, including identifying opportunities, understanding buyer needs, and creating strong proposals. Co-Founder and Board Member, Uncle Nearest, Inc., President and CEO, Nashwood, Inc.

Keith WeaverKeith Weaver is experienced in developing business concepts into highly successful commercial enterprises. He is an accomplished entrepreneur and corporate executive with over 25 years of experience establishing and leading notable companies in the spirits, real estate, hospitality, and entertainment sectors.

Keith co-founded Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey in 2016, which is the fastest-growing American whiskey or bourbon in U.S. history, and the most awarded of 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. The company has a valuation of over $1.5 billion with Keith and his wife, Fawn, as the majority shareholders. He serves on the board of Uncle Nearest and is the Chief Executive Officer of Nearest Green Distillery, home of the award-winning whiskey, which is a nearly 500-acre facility in Tennessee and the 7th most visited distillery in the world. Keith is currently leading a $100M development of the facility and is responsible for global production and retail sales.

Keith is also the founder and CEO of Nashwood, Inc., a real estate and hospitality company headquartered in Bedford County Tennessee. Nashwood’s first venture, Humble Baron, is a best-in-class entertainment venue and restaurant that has been certified by the Guiness Book of World Records as the longest bar in the World. Additionally, the Nashwood real estate portfolio is valued over $20M and includes ownership of the U.S. Bank and Times­Gazette buildings, which are both located in Shelbyville, Tennessee.

In September 2023, Keith concluded a more than 20-year career as a senior entertainment executive, most recently acting as Executive Vice President and Head of Global Policy for Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE). During his time at SPE, Weaver served as chief lobbyist and helped the organization navigate complex public affairs challenges and investments or divestments from aspects of the global business. While there, Keith led a $100M social justice fund to respond to systemic racism and injustice around the world.

Keith leverages his expertise and experiences as a business leader, along with his deep interest in giving back to the community, serving on several boards and commissions. He was a former gubernatorial appointee and Chairman for the California State Film Commission. In addition, he serves on the boards of the RAND Asia Policy Council, the Tennessee Entertainment Commission, Community Coalition, and the Trust for Public Land.

Alex McKindraAlex joined J.P. Morgan in 1999 as an investment banking associate within the Consumer & Retail Industry Coverage Group. As an investment banking associate, Alex executed numerous mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets and debt capital markets transactions. Prior to Alex’s tenure at J.P. Morgan, he was an associate within Barclays Capital’s Financial Sponsors Group. Alex’s primary focus was the execution and structuring of leveraged buyout transactions for mid-cap private equity firms. He also served as a junior member on Barclays Capital’s Principal Investment Committee where he modeled and structured co-equity investments with private equity clients.

Alex is a graduate of the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York and completed a tour of duty in the United States Air Force. Proudly descending from a long line of military veterans, Alex is committed to providing mentorship and “paying it forward” to support the next generation of veterans.

Michelle Buonfiglio is the Northeast Head of Diverse Business and National lead for Women-owned/led Businesses for J.P. Morgan Commercial Banking. Michelle works with individual entrepreneurs to understand their specific needs and goals, and then connects them to resources inside and outside the firm – from banking expertise, to educational programming, to networking and connectivity – establishing an ecosystem that enables their businesses growth. Michelle joined J.P. Morgan in 2004, spent over seven years delivering banking solutions for Government agencies and Higher Education institutions, and has been working with Middle Market companies since 2016. Michelle earned her M.B.A. from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business in 2017. Michelle is currently a board member of the Armed Services Arts Partnership (ASAP), and WBEC Metro NY and Greater DMV, a regional partner organization of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

Dani Schwimer

Danielle Schwimer is an Executive Director, Commercial Banker at JPMorganChase in San Diego, focused on Middle Market sized companies. She covers, supports and is a resource for Diverse, Women and Veteran owned businesses. Her goal is to drive impact through education, growth and community engagement. She also serves as a global supplier diversity ambassador. As an ambassador, her goal is to educate businesses on the importance of obtaining certification. As a Commercial Banker, she provides clients with comprehensive financial solutions that enable them to achieve their goals. The team brings the power of JPMorganChase’s global resources, with a local delivery to San Diego.

Prior to joining JPMorganChase, she spent 10 years as a Vice President at Citi in New York. She was on the Emerging Market Debt Syndication team where she advised sovereigns and corporations in LATAM, CEEMEA, and Asia on marketing, structuring, pricing, and execution for raising dept in the global markets.

She obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a Minor in Spanish from the University of Oregon. During her time at UofO, she was a four-year starter and Team Captain of the Women’s Soccer Team.

Outside of work, you can find her running, golfing, skiing or reading. She is a proud wife, mom of two, and a dog mom.


Marlie Andersch

Marlie AnderschMarlie Andersch is the CEO and Founder of rockITdata, a technology-driven company specializing in IT services, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) to enhance customer experience and business operations. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Marlie brings a deep understanding of both government and commercial technology landscapes, guiding businesses through digital transformation and innovative sales strategies.

As a member of the 2025 CEOcircle Cohort, Marlie plays an active role in the entrepreneurial veteran community, facilitating conversations on the commercial vs. federal sales cycle to help fellow business leaders navigate both sectors. She also serves as a Call Sign facilitator, mentoring and leading discussions within the program to foster peer-to-peer learning and networking.

Marlie has moderated high-profile discussions within CEOcircle, including speaker panels and fireside chats with industry leaders, showcasing her expertise in business strategy, sales, and leadership. Dennis CailDennis Cail, a Navy Veteran and graduate of SMU, serves as the CEO & Founder of Zirtue, a hypergrowth FinTech company revolutionizing financial inclusion through streamlined loans among friends and family, coupled with automated repayment processes via direct bill payments to Zirtue’s expanding network of enterprise partners.  Under Dennis’s leadership, Zirtue has achieved rapid month-over-month growth, attracting the attention of major media outlets such as Forbes, Fortune, Inc Magazine, Entrepreneur Magazine, Business Insider, Dallas Morning News, WFAA, and Fox Business News, where he is regarded as a financial expert and technology thought leader.

Prior to Zirtue, Dennis led the M&A Delivery Team at PwC as Managing Director and Co-Head of Technology Integration. He also served as Co-Founder and CEO of Uptown Financial Group, overseeing the launch and scale of three technology business applications before successfully exiting. With over 20 years of experience, Dennis possesses a distinguished track record in multinational, capital markets, and cross-border M&A advisory roles across various sectors, including FinTech, SaaS, BaaS, Enterprise Applications, and Technology-Enabled Companies.

Beginning his career as a Systems Engineer in the U.S. Navy, Dennis utilized his top-secret clearance and technical skills to establish critical communications between Naval Fleets, NAVAIR/NAVSEA Communications Centers, and the U.S. Pentagon. Subsequently, he transitioned to corporate roles, including a senior leadership position at IBM as Director of Corporate Development, where he spearheaded strategic technology M&A initiatives, leveraged buyouts, carve-outs, fund-raising, and growth equity recapitalizations for numerous domestic and international transactions.

Andrew Oshman Andrew Oshman is an Executive Director and member of J.P. Morgan Private Advisory, a cross-disciplinary group of over 100 global specialists who collaborate to deliver innovative and forward-thinking strategies, working closely with Private Bank Advisors to help clients make well-informed decisions and achieve their goals.

Andrew is part of the Private Business Advisory team, where he works developing content and strategies for business owners on issues such as mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, pre-transaction planning and maintaining a legacy business over multiple generations.

Andrew joined J.P. Morgan in 2018 with 13 years of investment banking experience at Duff & Phelps and Growth Capital Partners, where he was responsible for the origination, coordination and execution of company sales, mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations and private placements of privately held middle-market companies.  Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Andrew focused on building relationships with private equity firms and family offices as part of the Financial Sponsors Group at Duff & Phelps.

Andrew received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin.  He is a FINRA Series 7 and 63 registered representative.

As the namesake and key supporter of the D’Aniello IVMF, Dan’s commitment to veteran entrepreneurs and business leaders is rooted in his own journey—from military service to leading one of the world’s most successful private equity firms. He will share lessons on scaling businesses while leading with vision and resilience and offering insight into the enduring leadership principles that drive long-term success and legacy-building.

Daniel D’Aniello

Dan Daniello

Daniel D’Aniello is a Co-Founder and Non-Executive Chairman Emeritus of Carlyle. He has served on Carlyle’s Board of Directors since its inception on July 18, 2011, serving as Chairman from 2012 until January 1, 2018. Prior to forming Carlyle in 1987, D’Aniello was the Vice President for Finance and Development at Marriott Corporation for eight years. Before joining Marriott, D’Aniello was a financial officer at PepsiCo, Inc. and Trans World Airlines. D’Aniello served in the United States Navy from 1968 through 1971 during which time he was a Distinguished Naval Graduate of Officer Candidate School, Newport R.I.; a Supply Officer (LTJG) aboard the USS Wasp (CVS 18); and in 2016, D’Aniello was awarded the designation of Lone Sailor by the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation.

D’Aniello is Chairman of the American Enterprise Institute for Public Research; Co-Chairman of the D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University; Chairman of the Wolf Trap Foundation of the Performing Arts; an Advisor to the John Templeton Foundation; a founding Trustee of the Lumen Institute; and a Lifetime Member of the Board of Trustees of Syracuse University, a mem-ber of the Chancellor’s Council and the Corporate Advisory Council to the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. D’Aniello previously served as chairman and/or director of several private and public companies in which Carlyle had significant investment interests. D’Aniello is 1968 magna cum laude graduate of Syracuse University, where he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, and a 1974 graduate of the Harvard Business School, where he was a Teagle Foundation Fellow.

Deputy Executive Director, D’Aniello IVMF | Army

Ray Toenniessen

As Deputy Executive Director of the D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF), Ray leads over 100 employees located both on campus at Syracuse University and in military communities across the country, growing the Institute’s 16 national training programs and community services, its research and evaluation capabilities, its coalition for veteran owned businesses and employers, the alumni and engagement network, and the policy work in Washington D.C.

In his previous role as Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Innovation at the IVMF, he was instrumental in managing the cultivation and development of all new projects, programs and strategic initiatives for the institute, working in partnership with the related IVMF departments where the programs will eventually reside. He worked with senior leadership to lead IVMF’s advancement strategy and serves as a liaison to the external advisory board. Also responsible for the institute’s development and advancement strategy, Ray has forged trusted partnerships with private sector firms, foundations and individuals interested in impacting the concerns of military-connected community through philanthropy which has led to the institute empowering more than 200,000 service members, veterans and military family members since 2011.

Ray graduated from Syracuse University and commissioned from its ROTC program as a Second Lieutenant. He served four years on active duty including a combat deployment to Iraq in 2008 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was awarded a Bronze Star for his service. Upon his transition from active duty in 2010 he returned to Syracuse University as the first National Program Manager of the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans (EBV), expanding the program across the country to a partnership with ten world-class business schools while launching additional small business programs for veterans and their families out of the Whitman School of Management. In 2011 he assisted Vice Chancellor Mike Haynie in launching the D’Aniello IVMF initially serving as its director of programs and operations where he was responsible for launching the initial infrastructure of the institute
