Brian Collins joined the D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families Advising Services team in March of 2019 as an Academic Advisor. Brian is responsible for maintaining open lines of communication with IVMF students and assists with questions or concerns regarding certificate coursework, program offerings, and career advice.

Brian is a 21-year veteran of the U.S. Army. He held numerous positions culminating in assignments as First Sergeant and Deputy Commandant at the Fort Drum, NY Non-Commissioned Officers Academy. During his service, Brian deployed to Bosnia, Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan. During his career, he was awarded numerous distinctions including the Combat Action Badge, two Bronze Star Medals, three Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals, five Army Achievement Medals, an Afghanistan Campaign Medal and an Iraq Campaign Medal, among others.

Prior to joining the IVMF team, Brian served as the Pathfinder Scout for the USO Fort Drum, NY Transition Services team, helping service members and their families through the transition process by directly connecting them with a network of veteran-friendly organizations across the nation that offer relevant services with finding a civilian job, taking advantage of their GI Bill, securing financial stability, or any other aspect of the transition process.

Brian is a graduate of the Onward to Opportunity Professional in Human Resources course and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from SUNY Empire State College.
