IVMF Publishes Brief on Female Veteran Homelessness

From 2010- 2013, the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) served as the National Veterans Technical Assistance Center (NVTAC), a center funded by the U.S. Department of Labor-Vets (DOL-VETS). The NVTAC provided training and technical assistance for over 150 Homeless Veterans Reintegration Programs (HVRPs) nationwide, including over 20 grantees that were designated as Homeless Female Veterans and Homeless Veterans and Families programs.

The IVMF recently published an issues brief titled, “Lessons Learned from the U.S. Department of Labor Grantees: Homeless Female Veterans and Veterans with Families.” Available at here, the brief highlights the successes, challenges and lessons learned from these programs that shared their experiences with the IVMF and its partner, Advocates for Human Potential Inc., through a series of ‘community of practice calls.’ The information contained in the brief will provide useful insights for ending women veteran homelessness by increasing their employment-related income supports.
