Lisa Murray is the program manager of community engagement & innovation for the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) at Syracuse University. She is responsible for fostering and maintaining a relationship with community agencies that provide services to veterans and their families, and to help build a Community of Practice (CoP) among all NYS Supportive Services Veteran Families (SSVF) programs.
Prior to joining IVMF in May 2014, Lisa worked as a Program Manager at Veterans Outreach Center, Inc. in Rochester, NY. There, she was responsible for the daily operations of a housing program serving homeless and at-risk for homelessness and low-income veterans and families.
Lisa is a four-year veteran of the U.S. Army, leaving active duty with the rank of sergeant. Lisa served as a Nuclear Biological Chemical (NBC) specialist, track commander, squad leader, and operations sergeant both domestically and abroad.
Lisa holds an associate degree in liberal arts from the Finger Lakes Community College and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Rhetorical Studies at Syracuse University.
