Dr. Mike Haynie is the current Chancellor-elect, Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives & Innovation at Syracuse University, and also the Barnes Professor of Entrepreneurship.

Currently, Haynie serves as Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives & Innovation and Executive Dean of the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, where he was responsible for an expansive portfolio of academic programs, innovation initiatives, and administrative functions. Haynie is also the founder and Executive Director of Syracuse University’s D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families, the nation’s first interdisciplinary academic institute chartered to advance the policy, economic, and wellness concerns of America’s veterans and military-connected families. In 2018, he was named a University Professor — the most senior and selective academic rank conferred upon faculty at Syracuse University.

Raymond Toenniessen is the Deputy Executive Director of the D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families and Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Innovation. As Deputy Executive Director, Toenniessen will lead the over 100 employees located both on campus in Syracuse, NY and in military communities across the country, growing the Institute’s 16 national training programs and community services, its research and evaluation capabilities, its coalition for veteran owned businesses and employers, the alumni and engagement network, and the policy work in Washington D.C.
